What does Fog Cannon® mean?
Cannon of Fog, both the name and the system are trademarked and patented.
What is the principle of operation of a Fog Cannon ® ?
An equalized continuos tri-phase jet flow (water/air/surfactant) is produced by the sprayers installed onto the muzzle of the Fog Cannon® and get throw in far distance from the system, producing a proportional and uniform micro rain along his throw.
How far does a Fog Cannon ® throw?
The throw varies from 50 to 250 m, according to the size of the Fog Cannon ®, with an inclination of 42°. However, the inclination is easily self changeable depending on the customer’s needs.
How many degrees does the Fog Cannon ® turn?
It turns of about 360° ca.
How is a Fog Cannon ® moving?
Rear sight, Arc of Training, Pressure and Surfactant Pumps are electrically driven and/or manually operated and/or hydro driven.
How fine is the fog produced by a Fog Cannon ® ?
The produced fog particles range between 0 to 200 micron, but the majority of them, around 70%, have a diameter of 150 micron.
What is the power consumption of a Fog Cannon ® ?
The consumption changes according to throw and therefore machine size, i.e. from 20 to 400 kW for the bigger one.
Which is the operating electrical tension and frequency of a Fog Cannon ® ?
Standard 400V/50Hz, but we are certified for any kind of electricity worldwide.
What is the water consumption of a Fog Cannon ® ?
At full flank it sprays from 80 liters for the small unit to 1000 liters for the bigger unit per minute of chlorate water, according to the requested throw and the size of the machine.
Why is surfactant important in a Fog Cannon ® efficency?
The surfactant is used to eliminate the superficial tensions of water particles, concurring to agglomerate grains of powder and precipitate them down to the ground for gravity, thus avoiding any electrostatic rejection between the molecules of powder and water. Once the powder is precipitated onto the ground, the surfactant works to build a thin crust on the surface, keeping the dust there under.
What is surfactant?
Surfactants are biological molecules able to modify the surface tension of the water. Some types of surfactants are called anionic -i.e. solphate alcohol -, and others cationic - i.e. quaternary ammonium salt. In the two cases above, the polar component is constituted of SULPHONIC IONS ethylene oxide chains and ammonium ions whilst the non-polar component is generally constituted of a long ALIPHATIC chain (often C10-C18).
What is the name of Fog Cannon ® surfactant?
The name is ECS 89 and is a patented product, VDI certified.
Is ECS 89 dangerous to health or to environment?
Absolutely not! Indeed it is the only one in commerce approved by the Health Minister of a European Country: Germany.
Does ECS 89 dirty or pollute the product over which it is sprayed?
Absolutely not! The German VDI (Engineering Association of Rules & Regulations) and the Ta-Luft certify its absolute harmlessness, to the point that it is drinkable, breathable, burnable without any consequence or alteration, being a starch of organic origin abstracted from rice and corn.
How much is the ECS 89 consumption in a Fog Cannon®?
1/400 fixed according to the flow of H 2 O.
Does the Fog Cannon ® have a protection device for the Operator?
Yes, a Protection Net, irremovable and locked according to law 626 and 624.
What safety guarantee?
According to Regulations:
- Italian president of Republic bill n° 459 dated 07/24/1996;
- European Norms 89/392/CEE, 91/368, 93/44 and 93/68.
